Why I am running

I am running for the Arizona Legislature to protect people from the devastating cuts to education and children’s services.

In my opinion, the House Leadership is letting down the people of Arizona by cutting vital services that hurt the most vulnerable, while giving away excessive corporate tax breaks.

Legislators have forced schools, children’s services and other agencies to furlough or lay off workers during this recession.  In addition to the moral consequences, economists will tell you that this policy makes poor economic sense.

We cannot cut our way out of $5 billion budget shortfall that is expected over the next 18 months.   Arizona’s tax structure needs to be adjusted now to create more revenue that can be invested in our future.
